Mulberry Junction
model railway layout set in West Yorkshire
Peco LK-83 signal box
The Peco LK-83 signal box was ok to build, it did have a problem when cutting the components from some of the sprue`s ( make sure your knife is sharp ), the base tried to warp too when I left it to set, I used Humbrol liquid poly, it was easily rectified using a little more poly and applying weighing for a short while to set firm. Another area that is tricky was adding the ladders and roof again slight warping was rectified.
The peco kit has been said to be based on a signal box in the Potters Bar area.
I have seen a signal box smaller but similar in design that controls the level crossing at Cutsyke in Castleford.

Mulberry Junction signalling
The signals for Mulberry junction are a mix of Train tronics, and Eckon signals.
The signals protect train movements ensuring one train is in one section, there is exceptions such as shunting and platform usage, and also used to protect the junction to the colliery, depot and station.
I use three and four aspect signals, and ground position light signals, I have wired them individually so have to remember to change them to danger once the train has passed but maybe one day ( or month ) I will have them working to an automated system I would have to do a fair amount of research though for that to happen but it is something I do quite fancy for the layout.
